  1. No commenting kn the mushrooms video so since i typed it out, I’ll just leave it here….. I’ve taken LSD dozens of times when I was in my late teens to early 20s. I loathe mushrooms because of the taste but they act nearly identically. I’m neurotypical but what I didn’t know then was taking hallucinogens can trigger schizophrenia if your genes are set up for it; there’d be no turning back, essentially. Not having a serious mental illness, after many many years have gone by since my last time, I kind of want to drop acid again because it’s always amazing to have that view of the world around you, an experience that no one else not using the drug can have. At the same time, it’s something I’ve done and can easily leave it behind and list it as part of my past life experience. I’m not sure she’d want to but knowing what I know today, I would never ever ever ever facilitate an opportunity for my fiancé (with schizophrenia) to take LSD or shrooms. No way, José. Hell no. The effect on the brain can do exactly what you do NOT want to happen to someone prone to a relapse of bad psychosis which she absolutely is, sadly. (Just as Lauren explained happened to her.) I used to feel it’s something worth trying for anyone who was curious (in their late teens or 20s) but the harm it can have to potentially be a trigger for something like schizophrenia makes it so NOT worth it. Lauren here looks pretty well spoken in most every video she makes but schizophrenia can just wreck a person. When the mental health community chooses to discriminate against those not a danger to themselves or others, when they assign privilege for those who get help and don’t give privilege to others, too many are left alone to never start treatment, to keep destroying their lives and the life of a loved one. Their hopes and dreams are garbage while they continue to suffer through a miserable existence with the same illness as the privileged ones. Having schizophrenia doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed help. It’s disgusting and shameful. Taking shrooms or acid, which can bring on debilitating mental illness, would be a foolish choice. Knowingly neurotypical and stable in your late 30s or onward? Go for it. Otherwise stay away, not worth the risk.
